PANJIM: The extraordinary gram sabha of Sao Mathias Village Panchayat could not discuss agriculture policy in the absence of Krishi Mitra, informed deputy sarpanch Swapnil Bhomkar.
The meeting evoked poor response from the villagers, who complained that the panchayat did not make an announcement about the extraordinary gram sabha.
Bhomkar said that though discussion on agriculture policy was listed on the agenda, the same could not be discussed as Krishi Mitra did not attend the gram sabha. Krishi Mitra would be in a better position to explain to farmers the objectives of the policy, he said.
