QUEPEM: With no enrolment centres in Dharbandora and Sanguem, the residents of these two talukas are forced to travel to Curchorem centre with regards to Aadhaar Card enrolment and for making other changes and corrections.

To add to their woes, they are sometimes forced to visit the Curchorem centre at least twice or thrice. The Curchorem centre receives 30 tokens on a daily basis with regards to new enrolment, change and correction in names.  People queue up at the enrolment centre as early as 8 am to seek a token even during the prevailing pandemic.

Ganapathi Bhat, a resident of Dharbandora said, “With no enrolment centre in Dharbandora I am forced to travel a long distance to reach the Curchorem Enrolment Centre.   This was my second visit to the centre as earlier I reached late and failed to get a token. Today, I waited in the queue for the token since 8 am. Government should come up with two enrolment centres in every taluka for better facilities for the locals.”

Fatima Fernandes from Vaddem Colony 1 in Sanguem said, “People from Sanguem visit the Curchorem enrolment centre for corrections and for getting themselves enrolled for Aadhaar Card as there is no enrolment centre in Sanguem constituency. This was my second visit and we are forced to travel around 25 kms from Vaddem. It’s very important that Sanguem constituency should have at least one enrolment centre which will help the taluka’s residents.”
