‘No hidden agenda in postponing Goa Dairy AGM’

PONDA:  The Goa Dairy Administrative Committee Chairman Durgesh Shirodkar on Monday disclosed that there is no hidden agenda in postponement of annual general meeting of Goa Dairy as alleged by some farmers.

He challenged the farmers to prove mismanagement and losses incurred by Goa Dairy during his tenure. Shirodkar is one of the progressive farmers and was appointed on Goa Dairy board after disqualification of some Board of Directors of Goa Dairy by the Office of The Registrar of Cooperative Societies.

He questioned the farmers why they are blaming him for the entire losses incurred by Goa Dairy in the past years.

He said that the Goa Dairy was in profit during my eight months tenure along with two other administrative committee members to the tune of Rs 2.40 crore and added he achieved this by adopting cost cutting measures and can produce white paper on it.

The Goa Dairy chairman submitted the month-wise figure of profits earned during his tenure from April to October to tune of Rs 2.5 crore to support his claim.

The AGM would now will be held on January 17.
