MAPUSA: Ports Minister Michael Lobo on Friday stated that no hill cutting it going on in Sinquerim for any construction but restoration work of the fort.
“Also land is acquired for the parking. We have not done any hill cutting for construction. Pitching work will be carried out with stone and some part of it will be used for parking. People who have approached the court should think about the larger public’s interest,” stated Lobo.
Lobo inspected the ongoing restoration work of Aguada Jail, which is currently underway in full swing, along with PWD Engineer Alan Pereira, Goa Tourism Development Corporation officials, Candolim Sarpanch Blaise Fernandes and others. He stated that periodic inspection of the work is going to make sure that the fund received is utilised for the right work.
“90 per cent work of one gallery of the exhibition hall is already completed where the artefacts will be displayed,” he added.
