PANJIM: The Crime Branch (CB), after recording fresh statements of witnesses in the Bismarque Dias death case, on Thursday submitted its compliance report before the Division Bench of the High Court of Bombay at Goa.
The Crime Branch said they have found no clue of murder during the course of investigation. HC, while directing the CB to register Bismarque’s death as a murder case had asked it to submit a compliance report every three months.
On April 11, 2017, the High Court of Bombay at Goa had asked the Crime Branch to register an FIR in Bismarque’s death case based on the November 7, 2015 complaint filed by his family.
Mario Dias, the younger brother of Bismarque, had immediately filed a complaint at Old Goa Police Station alleging the death as murder and not drowning. However, the police had not registered the death as murder and the investigation was later transferred to the Crime Branch.
The Crime Branch, after a detailed investigation, had concluded that Bismarque’ death was due to drowning and a closure report was submitted to the SDM Tiswadi.
The Court asked the Police to register it as a murder and investigate.
