VASCO: All Goa Kannada Mahasangh Head Sidhanna Meti on Friday said there is no need to do politics over the issue of Karnataka Bhavan. This facility will benefit the tourists and Kannadigas visiting the State.
Meti said the elected representative i.e the Chief Ministers of both States Karnataka and Goa should seat together and discuss the Bhavan issue amicably.
He said, “The person who is against the Karnataka Bhavan will only get elected if he goes along with all the ‘insiders’ as well as ‘outsiders’. The person who is against this Bhavan has not been elected yet by the people.”
Meti further pointed out that there is no different Constitution of India for different people but all are abided by only one Constitution which guarantees its citizen to work, stay and live a satisfactory life.
Commenting on Goa Niwas at Delhi, Meti said that there are two Niwas in Delhi and third is also going to come up. We have asked to build a Karnataka Bhavan in Goa just to provide lodging facility and other facilities such as to have a gathering, event at the site. Nobody is going to take away this land or structure. I feel there is absolutely no need to make politics on this issue, in fact there is a need to give attention to many other issues faced by the people.
He concluded saying that there is no point harassing the poor and do politics on them. In fact, there is a need for all to stay together and help the poor and needy in the difficult times of COVID-19 pandemic.
