PANJIM: Amidst the ongoing debate on the beef ban, former Congress Union Minister Eduardo Faleiro claimed that no government or organization can prohibit the consumption of beef in the country.
The former minister said India is at present the largest exporter of beef, mainly buffalo meat, in the world. “Some medical studies in India and abroad link red meat consumption to chronic diseases and across the world many people, irrespective of religion, do not eat red meat such as beef and pork,” he said.
