PANJIM: The Goa Human Rights Commission (GHRC) on Monday disposed of proceedings stating that there was no human rights violations by the police against protestors seeking justice for Bismarque Dias in Panjim in November 2015.
Norman Albuquerque, a resident of Porvorim, had filed a complaint before the Commission complaining that the Panjim police had violated human rights, freedom of personal liberty and freedom of speech and expression of protestors on November 21, 2015.
The then Panjim DySP Serafin Dias deposed that the North Goa collector had clamped prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC within the jurisdiction of Panjim police station in view of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in the capital city.
