MARGAO: Absence of illumination and proper direction signs at the powerhouse junction has created fear among the commuters coming from Davorlim and Aquem.
The Davorlim village road opens up at the junction and has become immensely dangerous to the commuters due to lack of proper illumination. The high traffic junction sees minor or major accidents every day. After several demands of the people, speed breakers have been put up now. Locals informed that all the concerned departments are passing the buck to make sure that the road is well illuminated. Anand Sawant, a Davorlim resident said that they have been asking for illumination and traffic signals at the junction for a long time now. One of the PWD officials said that due to the absence of mud filling into the median and the island, the work was halted.
