No proper signages, but laws have to be obeyed: Transport DIrector

Transport Director Rajan Satardekar on Thursday admitted that there were no proper traffic signages across the State and that the PWD has now prepared estimates for the same.

“Signages are being erected in the State. The PWD (roads section) has already prepared estimates for the same and it would be tendered soon.

He said that there is no advisory to reduce any of the 37 provisions of the amended Motor Vehicles Act and that the Supreme Court Committee on Road safety is strictly monitoring the implementation of the amended Motor Vehicles Act in every State.

He called on people to obey traffic laws, so that they don’t give an opportunity to give fines.  The implementation of Motor Vehicle Amendment 2019 was long due and it is being monitored by the Supreme Court committee.
