No proposal to shift casino from Chorao: CM

PANJIM: A day after Environment and Forests Minister Rajendra Arlekar sought shifting offshore casino vessel ‘Deltin Caravela’ from near the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said he has not received any such proposal. “No file has come from Forest Department to shift the vessel from Chorao,” he said adding that ‘government is not here to increase casinos’.
Arlekar on Friday had decided to direct the Home Department and Captain of Ports (CoP) to shift the casino vessel currently anchored near the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary.
