MARGAO: The 11-member Curtorim village panchayat continues to be ruled by an acting sarpanch for over 40 days now.
Deputy sarpanch Simon Barretto has been functioning as the acting sarpanch of the village ever since then Sarpanch Valentina Braganza was voted out of office in a no confidence motion in the first week of August.
When contacted, the acting Sarpanch confirmed that the panchayat has till date not received any communication from the Director of Panchayats or the Salcete Block Development Office of the plan to fill up the vacant post of sarpanch.
