Goa government is yet to issue show-cause notice to Shimnit Utsch over termination of high security registration plates (HSRP) contract even one and half month after making submission to the High Court.
Transport Director Arun Desai told Herald that the department is yet to receive file from the government over termination of the contract.
“We are waiting for the government approval over the contract file. The show-cause notice will be issued accordingly,” he said.
It is confirmed from the Advocate General’s office that the file was forwarded to the state government on August 23 and is still pending with them.
After the company- Shimnit Utsch in their petition to the High Court pointed out that the government has not followed the procedure while taking decision to terminate the contract, the state government had assured Court that the notice will be issued soon before termination.
Accordingly, the transport department on August 20 decided to issue show-cause notice over its termination. However, it was further postponed to August 23.
The state government had assured to scrap the tender of Shimnit Utsch after Srivastava committee pointed out glaring irregularities in the tendering process.
