MARGAO: PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral has assured to look into the infrastructure issues affecting Margao’s civil and criminal court building. Cabral explained that PWD had issued a tender recently but there were no takers for the same and thus the work had been delayed. He said the department would retender the work of the building.

The court’s roof presently has tarpaulin sheets covering it in order to prevent the seepage of rainwater into the building’s premises.

The court is frequented by judges, lawyers, litigants etc on a daily basis and with the heavy showers, urgent repairs are required. Cabral, who is also the Law and Judiciary Minister, said he was already looking into the same.

He also added that PWD had carried out some repair works on the building four years ago.
