MARGAO: The six members of the ruling side of Benaulim Village Panchayat have filed a no-confidence motion against the deputy sarpanch.
The six of the 11 members of panchayat have filed a no-confidence motion against the Deputy Sarpanch Joao Albuquerque. It may be recalled that the six panchayat members had tabled a no-confidence motion against Sarpanch Ezlina Fernandes on November 5.
MLA of Benaulim Churchill Alemao said that the members from the opposition benches of the Benaulim Panchayat have supported the ruling group in removing the deputy sarpanch.
Joao was elected unopposed to the deputy sarpanch post on September 26.
