PONDA: The no confidence motion moved against Ponda Municipal Chairman Pradeep Naik will come up for discussion and voting on August 13.
In the 15-member council, nine councillors have moved the no confidence motion against Naik. The motion was also signed by Vice Chairman Vishwanath Dalvi, who is also the Ponda block president of the BJP.
After the municipal elections, the MGP had formed the ruling council with the support of councillors affiliated to the BJP.
The other councillors who signed the motion include Chandrakala Naik, Venktesh Naik, Archana Dangui, Amina Naik, Seema Fernandis, Geetali Talavlikar, Shantaram Kolvekar and William Aguiar.
According to these councillors, the motion has been moved since the chairman was not taking them into confidence while taking up developmental works.
