SANGUEM: Citizens from Sanguem and neighbouring areas had to go without potable water for nearly two days, after the main water pipeline to Sanguem and other areas ruptured at Kharkhatiaghati near the Sanguem Court.
Following a breakdown in the main pipeline, the department stopped water supply to Sanguem town and other neighbouring areas on Tuesday morning to carry out the repair work of the ruptured pipeline.
Though the department restored water supply late evening, the water was muddy and not potable, forcing residents to run from pillar to post to procure water from other sources.
Though residents were provided with potable water supply in some parts of the town area on Wednesday morning, the water turned muddy late in the evening.
Sources at the water supply department said the muddy water supply was solely due to the damaged pipeline at Kharkhatiaghati, which sources claimed, has been repaired and replaced with a new pipe.
