NOC granted for tree cutting due to safety concerns, clarifies Kamat Plaza Hsg Sty

PANJIM: The Kamat Plaza Co-operative Housing Society Ltd St Inez-Panjim on Wednesday clarified that it had granted no objection certificate to the authorities for cutting two trees which are existing in front of it complex and they posed danger to the building and its residents.

Speaking to O Heraldo, Kamat Plaza Cooperative Housing Sty Ltd secretary Michael Rodrigues said that they had applied to the concerned authorities to cut the trees about two years ago.

Rodrigues said that as per the area plan the trees belonged to the society and they wanted to cut the trees as the roots had grown under the building damaging underground water pipelines. He said another tree has been partly cut and its other portion is now leaning towards the building.
