PaNJIM: The process of filing nominations papers for Casarvarnem, Alorna and Chandel-Hansapur village panchayats in Pernem taluka starts from Tuesday, November 22 from 10 am to 1 pm.
Pernem Mamlatdar has been appointed as returning officer and Awal Karkun in the mamlatdar’s office will be the assistant returning officer.
The last date to file nominations is November 29 and scrutiny of nominations will be held on November 30 from 10 am onwards. The withdrawals of nominations will be allowed on December 1 from 10 am to 2 pm.
Meanwhile, The Goa State Election Commission has already declared reserved wards for these village panchayats. In seven-member Alorna panchayat, ward numbers 2, 6 and 7 have been reserved for women candidates while, ward 5 is reserved for Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates and ward 1 is reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) communities.
In Casarvarnem panchayat, ward numbers 4 and 5 have been reserved for women and ward 1 is reserved for OBC candidates while, in Chandel-Hansapur panchayat, ward numbers 2 and 5 have been reserved for women and ward 3 has been reserved for OBC candidates. Both these village panchayats consist of five Members each.
The elections in these three village panchayats are scheduled on December 9.
