For more than three months now, visitors to the Excise Office, Mapusa are forced to undergo hardship as the lift is not functional. As a result, senior citizens and persons with joint pain are forced to undertake the arduous task of climbing a flight of multiple stairs leading to the fifth floor.
People are forced to take excruciating multiple trips down the stairs leaving them breathless and in pain. While the issue has been taken up with the concerned authorities, on the functioning of the lift, no measures have been taken. Activist Sanjay Barde has requested the authorities to shift the office to the ground floor of any other building.
