PANJIM: A total of 516 claims under the ex-gratia assistance to the families of COVID-19 deceased have been settled by the North Goa Collector till date.
The State government provides an ex-gratia financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to the next kin of the COVID-19 victim.
As per the statement issued, till date, the District Disaster Management Authority, North Goa, headed by the Collector has processed and approved 516 cases and disbursed the total amount of Rs 2.58 crore to the deceased families.
While the Collector’s office received 63 claims, another 453 were beneficiaries from the list of Social Welfare Department.
There are also several beneficiaries who received ex-gratia assistance of Rs two lakh.
The District Collector has urged families of COVID-19 victims, to come forward and submit their applications to get the benefit.
