North East trade txpo gets underway

MARGAO: The 11-day North East Trade exhibition got underway at the Ravindra Bhavan, here, on Thursday. Around 100 crafts persons from the North Eastern states will participate in the exhibition, which was inaugurated by Art and Culture Minister Dayanand Mandrekar in the presence of Ravindra Bhavan Chairman Damu Naik.

MARGAO: The 11-day North East Trade exhibition got underway at the Ravindra Bhavan, here, on Thursday. 
Around 100 crafts persons from the North Eastern states will participate in the exhibition, which was inaugurated by Art and Culture Minister Dayanand Mandrekar in the presence of Ravindra Bhavan Chairman Damu Naik.
Advisor to the North Eastern Handicrafts and Handloom Development Corporation D C Borkotoky said that different crafts representing the regional culture will be on display and sale at the exhibition.
Art and Culture Minister, Dayanand Mandrekar, said the exhibition will give a big fillip to the handicraft items prepared by the craftsmen. He said the exhibition on the eve of Ganesh Chathurti festivities will help the craftsmen to showcase their products and provide an opportunity for the shopper with a variety of handicraft items. The exhibition will conclude on September 15.
