North Goa Collector orders verification of tenants after inputs on terror threats

Security scare along West Coast in the air ; District Magistrate orders owners of houses, buildings, hotels, lodgings, private guest houses and paying guest accommodations, religious bodies to strictly verify the antecedents of all persons before letting out their premises

PANJIM: The North Goa District Collector has issued an order making it necessary to ensure proper tenant verification in view of a intelligence inputs about possible threat along the Western Coast,  especially Goa 

North Goa District Magistrate Mamu Hage in a notification issued on Wednesday in and order imposing CrPC Section 144  

has directed all the owners of the houses, buildings, flats and other residential accommodation and the owners/management of  hotels, lodging and boarding, shacks, private guest houses, paying guest accommodation of religious bodies etc to verify the bonafides of the persons through their proof of identity such as Election Card, Driving License, Aadhar Card, Passport, etc. 

The district magistrate has ordered the owners of houses, buildings, hotels, lodgings, private guest houses and paying guest accommodations, religious bodies to strictly verify the antecedents of all the persons before letting out their premises.

This order shall also apply to the owners of such premises who have so far not furnished the verification forms in respect of their Tenants/Visitors/ Guests who are already occupying their premises.

This order shall come into force for the period of 60 days from the date of issue unless withdrawn earlier. The order of the DC says that in view of the prevailing situation in the country and intelligence inputs regarding possible threats along the Western Coast of India and the possibility of antisocial elements with an intention of committing crime in Goa/elsewhere staying in house/flats/building premises on rent, it is necessary to ensure proper verification of the antecedents of persons staying in residential accommodation on rent or in hotels, lodging and boarding, private guest houses, paying guest accommodation, including that of religious bodies, etc.
