MAPUSA: The North Goa Superintendent of Police (SP) Chandan Chaudhry held an interactive session the panchayat members, locals and tourism stakeholders in the north coastal belt on Saturday.
The session was attended by members of Anjuna, Siolim and Arpora with panchayats; shack, hotel, guest house owners from Anjuna and Anjuna villagers.
The interactive session was held on curbing drug menace and smoking and filing of tenant and C form.
At the meeting, Chaudhry emphasized on the importance of filing C forms of tourists occupying rooms in hotels and guest houses.
“Filing of C forms and uploading it on website is very important, because it helps the police to know who the guest is and whether the person is booked for any crime or not. It also helps the police to get break through if the guest commits any crime and flees from the hotel. Non-filing of C form is a criminal liability and also danger to society,” she said.
Chaudhary asked the hotel and guest house owners to keep details of all their staff. “If any of the staff or employee is found with drugs or any drug activities, then, even the owner of enterprise will be booked,” she warned.
SDPO Sherafin Dias informed that locals who rent out their rooms and houses should compulsorily fill-in the tenant verification form by affixing their latest photograph and address proof. This, he said, should be done within 24 hours of renting out their premises.
