After Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant threw his weight behind app-based taxis as the way forward for tourism, taxi operators gathered at Azad Maidan, Panjim to oppose the move. Denying the charge of looting customers, they called on the Chief Minister to check the bank balance of the Ministers every 5 years. They also alleged a scam in metre installation. “If the use of metres starts from Dabolim we will follow it in the coastal belt. All over India, no taxi vehicles use metres”, they claimed.
