Mapusa: The Calangute beach teenage girl death case took a new twist with the parents ripping apart the theories put forth by police regarding her death.
Alleging that the death of their daughter was not a suicide but murder, her parents who spoke to the media for the first time and accused the police of deliberately botching up the case to save the government.
The family of the 19-year-old girl who was found dead on Calangute beach two days back, enumerated number of instances how police were trying to prove it as a case of suicide. “If the police had acted on time my daughter would have been alive today”, her father Sandeep Naik told media.
“I made the missing complaint, I was rubbished by Mapusa police. They made no efforts to trace my daughter. Even when the body was found next day on Calangute beach, the family was not informed and the body was moved to GMC in our absence,” they said.
They also expressed strong doubt on the authenticity of post-mortem report. “If she died due to downing, how come there was no water in her stomach?” questioned her mother.
She further said that there were black marks on her back and face. She was wearing a T-shirt and jeans pants. How do police explain missing of the same, the relatives questioned.
They charged that the entire Goverment machinery is manipulating the matter to protect someone and the blame is being put on the parents.
