Notary had expired licence

PANJIM, JUNE 21 The Goa Police Crime Branch officials have confirmed that the licence of the Margao-based Notary Adv Joey Rodrigues, who notarised former tourism minister Mickky Pacheco's affidavits filed in the court had expired.

The Goa Police Crime Branch officials have confirmed that the licence of the Margao-based Notary Adv Joey Rodrigues, who notarised former tourism minister Mickky Pacheco’s affidavits filed in the court had expired.
The affidavit sworn before Notary Joey Rodrigues at Margao on June 14 has been submitted by Pacheco to the High Court along with his anticipatory bail application.
Earlier, Adv Aires Rodrigues had alleged that Adv Joey Rodrigues notary licence had expired.
When contacted sources in the Crime Branch confirmed that the licence had indeed expired on October 10, 2009
Adv Aires Rodrigues has been further informed by the Head of Notary Services that the government did not renew the licence of Notary Joey Rodrigues as there is a disciplinary enquiry pending against him.
The State Registrar and Head of Notary Services is conducting an inquiry on the directions of the Law Secretary following a complaint filed by one Joao Pereira of Utorda  against Adv Joey Rodrigues for forging and manipulation of a Power of Attorney committed by him in his capacity as Notary.
