Notice to PI in Aires case

The Bombay High Court at Goa on Monday directed that notice be issued to Old Goa PI Gurudas Gawade in the contempt of court petition filed by Adv Aires Rodrigues against the PI for not filing a charge sheet but closing his criminal complaint of threat to kill against Health Minister Vishwajit Rane.
It may be recalled that on September 23, 2008, on instructions of Gawade, the public prosecutor made a statement before Justice Nelson Britto that investigation into the criminal complaint against the Health Minister was pending and that a charge sheet would be filed against him. Aires said Gawade in flagrant disobedience instead of filing the charge sheet closed the case against the minister on December 30.
