PANJIM: Directorate of Fisheries has issued show cause notices to two fishing vessels namely “Sukne” and ”Suknem — II” off Karwar Coast for not complying to the conditions laid down and directed to pay an amount of Rs 2, 45, 000 each within two days.

The Directorate has issued show cause notices to Julius Michael Rodrigues, Uttordoxi, Varca and Pio Tony Rodrigues, Utto Merrdoxi, Varca and asked as to why the Registration Certificate issued under Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 shall not be temporarily suspended.
Both the parties have been asked to file their written statement within 24 hours, failing which the Registration of the vessels will be cancelled or suspended without any further notice.
