PANJIM: Goa Tourism has launched a survey to understand the present crisis arising out of COVID-19 pandemic across the world. A survey is being conducted in joint venture with KPMG, which is tied up with the Tourism Department for a couple of projects like Master Plan.

“Goa Tourism is currently undertaking a State-wide survey along with KPMG Advisory Services to understand present issues, current needs and expectations for the aftermath of the crisis from various stakeholders. The survey link is available on Goa Tourism’s website at www.goa-tourism.com/covid19survey,” reads a press statement issued on Tuesday.
The “respondents” as described by the department, are asked to provide a valid mobile number wherein a unique OTP will be sent and upon authentication of the mobile number through OTP, the respondents can fill the survey form.
“These opinions and insights will be very useful to plan a suitable strategy to help revive tourism in the State. Goa Tourism humbly request all the tourist related stakeholders to utilise this opportunity to partner with the State, which will help in building a suitable recovery plan for the Tourism sector, thereby coming out strongly from this crisis.
Further, Goa Tourism intends to bridge the gap between industry and local community and is planning to launch suitable action programmes shortly,” it said.
“Although all the COVID-19 positive cases are negative in the State, there is still no clarity on when the world will come out of this crisis, and consequently effecting the tourism sector in the State. This is one of the worst crises ever to hit the Goan tourism industry impacting all its industry stakeholders such as hotels, restaurants, shacks, adventure activities, water sports, taxis, travel and tour operators, casinos etc,” the press release further mentions.
