In a recent altercation that unfolded in Cazanzalem on Monday evening, notorious criminal Suryakant Kambli, also known as Surya, fell victim to a vicious assault by unidentified assailants wielding sharp weapons. Sustaining severe injuries, Surya is currently receiving intensive care, prompting heightened speculation from law enforcement regarding the motives behind the attack.
Notorious for his criminal activities, Surya boasts a dubious record with a total of eight cases filed against him. These cases span multiple police stations, including Panjim, Pernem, Bicholim, Calangute, and Saligao. Charges against him include death threats, assault, and illegal possession of weapons. The recent incident at Carazalem marks yet another chapter in Surya’s tumultuous history, where he found himself targeted by masked assailants.
Following the assault, Surya has been admitted to at GMC for medical treatment, while the police intensify efforts to unravel the circumstances leading to the attack. The motives and individuals responsible remain shrouded in mystery, prompting an investigation led by Sub-Inspector Mayur Panashikar under the guidance of Police Inspector Nikhil Palekar.
