Speaking to Herald, Rodrigues said he is not going to file a case against Gomes though he has documents received from the Portuguese Prime Minister’s Office.
“Let the law take its own course. Goa needs to know who is guilty,” Rodrigues said.
Rodrigues is facing charges of holding dual citizenship following a complaint from Colva panch Calvert Gonsalves.
Gomes rubbished the claims made by Rodrigues. “My birth was neither registered by me nor have I participated in any process to register the same. I am in the process of verifying the authenticity of the birth certificate produced by Aires. It won’t take long to expose the manipulations and fabrication,” Gomes said.
The war between Rodrigues and Gomes commenced when the former filed a case against musician Remo Fernandes at Agassaim Police Station for verbally abusing a minor girl. Gomes, counsel for Remo who also has Portuguese nationality, is allegedly behind the filing of the case against Rodrigues.
The battle between the lawyers took an interesting turn when it turned personal on the issue of both allegedly holding Portuguese nationality.
