VASCO: Acting on a Herald report, the school management on Monday has erected a barricade outside the compound wall of the primary school, to prevent the parking of trucks and heavy vehicles and to deter truck drivers and cleaners from hanging out in the area.
Shortly after the sexual assault on the seven-year-old schoolgirl, Herald had reported that the parking of trucks and heavy vehicles outside the compound wall could easily be a hiding place for criminals and anti-social elements.
Many parents had complained that despite repeated complaints, the management had failed to shift the vehicles away from the school compound.
