MARGAO: In response to the relentless road traffic accidents plaguing South Goa, the Colva and Margao traffic cells have initiated a unique awareness drive to promote road safety.
Equipped with megaphones, police personnel ventured into the coastal villages to educate residents on traffic rules. Under the direction of Traffic Cell PI Filomena Costa, the initiative aimed to instil a sense of responsibility among drivers regarding safe driving practices. The police teams strategically visited schools, market areas, and residential colonies, targeting both young and experienced drivers. Drivers were urged to prioritise safety by adhering to traffic rules, wearing helmets, fastening seat belts, and refraining from drinking while driving, said PI Costa.
