PANJIM: In what could be called a respite to the families of the government employees, the State government has allowed families of government employees to avail benefit of the Health Insurance scheme – Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY).
“The government herewith conveys its approval to the proposal of the Directorate of Health Services that the non-dependant members on the existing cards who are now blocked shall be allowed to make fresh card on payment of fees and will be eligible to avail all the DDSSY procedure,” the notification reads
In 2017, the State Cabinet had decided to discontinue the DDSSY for the government employees as they are governed under existing medical attendance rules. However, the scheme was optional for the employees as they were also covered under medical reimbursement scheme.
