Now, GBEEA threatens agitation over 7th pay

PANJIM: Goa Board Education Employees Association (GBEEA) on Thursday decided to resort to an indefinite strike if the government fails to implement the 7th Pay Commission recommendations to its employees by December 27.

Speaking to the media, employees of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) stated that the notification brought out by the government does not include seventh pay hike to staff of autonomous institutions, including GBSHSE, and further states that separate instructions shall be issued in due course of time after a detailed examination by committee.
“All schools and colleges are affiliated to Goa Board, if all the employees of those schools are entitled for the seventh pay hike then why not us? We are government employees and do equal amount of work and before this we have availed similar facilities like all other government employees are entitled too, but this time why is there separation?” a board employee asked.
“All the employees of GBSHSE have decided to resort to an indefinite strike if the government does not implement the 7th Pay Commission hike to all the employees of the board on or before December 27,” they said.
The 7th Pay Commission notification order issued by the government mentioned that separate instructions shall be issued after a detailed examination by a committee for employees working for Panchayati Raj institutions, urban local bodies, corporations, autonomous bodies, societies, agencies and PSUs.
