PANJIM: The Save Old Goa Action Committee on Wednesday said that the ongoing satyagraha will continue till the illegal structure in the heritage area is demolished and the protected areas, prohibited areas and regulated areas are demarcated and notified on the Regional Plan.
Reacting to the State government’s decision to revoke the construction licence issued to the perpetrators of the illegal construction at Old Goa, the Save Old Goa Action Committee said that they were not moved with these kinds of eye wash revocations and will stick to its demand of getting the illegal structure razed to ground level.
Both the so called revocation orders issued by the Old Goa village panchayat and the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department apparently on the same day are totally misleading and an eye wash for the people of Goa, it said.
How can the fraudulent permission/licences be revoked when the structure is fully completed? Now is the stage for demolition and not revocation, the committee said.
Meanwhile, the health of Adv Amit Palekar, who is on indefinite hunger strike demanding demolition of the illegal structure in the heritage area deteriorated on the third day on Wednesday. He is on hunger strike since Monday. His family members had met him on Tuesday.
