PANJIM: The Directorate of Mines and Geology (DMG) has announced online issuance of bulk transit permits for import of minor minerals in the State from Monday.
The decision was taken following a request from transporters to issue bulk permits stating that obtaining a permit for each vehicle online becomes cumbersome.
From September 27 onwards, the department has begun issuing online permits for import of minor minerals to regulate mineral transportation. “Initially, as per request from the transporters, the department begun to issue manual bulk permits, which will now be valid only till October 14,” said Director Mines Suresh Shanbhogue.
As per DMG order, the owners of all vehicles, used for the purpose of importing such minerals in the State have to register their vehicles with the department for obtaining transit permits.
The applicant has to provide details like the kind of mineral, destination, check-post and purpose of import, followed by exporter details such as the name of the organisation (exporter), State, village and taluka from where the mineral will be dispatched.
