MAPUSA: The Salvador do Mundo Panchayat on Saturday entered the containment red zone for nine days by restricting the movement of public in the village between 6 am and 11 am. People have been told to follow social distancing and use masks.
During the nine-day lockdown period (May 1-9), only shops dealing in essential commodities such as groceries, fruits, dairy products, bread, hardware, super markets, meat, fish, pet food shops, etc, are allowed to remain open from 6 am to 11 am.
Religious ceremonies related to marriages will be allowed at religious places subject to permission from the Deputy Collector.
Ongoing repair works will be permitted with a maximum of four labourers. Banks and postal services will remain open till 11 am.
Vehicles transporting essential goods will be allowed to enter the village. Gas agencies, hospitals, diagnostic centres, clinics, vaccination centres, medical stores, veterinary services/animal care shelters and health services are allowed to operate beyond the restricted timings.
Restaurants enrolled with online ordering and delivery platforms and having home delivery service are permitted beyond the restricted timing.
Agriculture activities, firms, companies/people providing internet, telephone, mobile, electricity and water are allowed after 11 am.
E-commerce services and security agencies are permitted beyond the restricted timing.
Residents working in government, semi-government and private firms are allowed to exit and enter the village on producing their ID cards. Hotels having guests and basic maintenance staff will be allowed to operate. However, no new hotel bookings will be permitted.
Pre-monsoon works and urgent development works by government are also allowed.
Salons, spas, massage parlours, gyms, tattoo studios, beauty parlour and shops selling garments, dry fruits, tobacco, cigarettes, etc, will remain closed.
Party halls, public buses, bars and restaurants (dining), fishing jetties, swimming pool, playground, sports ground and any type of shootings will be shut. Public places such as gardens and parks will also remain closed.
All private coaching classes involving more than four persons will be shut.
