PANJIM: The State government has directed all its departments to accept self-certified copies of documents and not to insist on submission of attested copies or affidavits by citizens to provide hassle-free services.
In an office memorandum issued, Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel has said that the government has adopted the recommendation of self-certification provisions for simplifying procedures, made by the Second Administrative Reform Commission in its 12th report titled ‘Citizen Centric Administration – The Heart of Governance’.
Goel said that instances have come to their notice that departments are insisting on attested copies of documents of affidavit at the time of application.
