MARGAO: The South Goa Police have started dealing with the violations of tinted glasses with an iron fist.
All the Police stations under the South Goa jurisdiction have been directed that local police along with Police Control Room (PCR) vans and Traffic Police will hold joint checking at various important junctions in their police stations’ jurisdictions on a daily basis.
This joint checking shall take place only at one point/junction on any given day. These points/junctions will change every day. The staff posted at these checkpoints shall conduct special drive from 5 pm to 8 pm daily at only one important junction in their respective police station jurisdiction and will concentrate on violations of riding without helmet/number plate, use of tinted glass by four wheelers. The police have been asked to remove the black/shaded films immediately during the issue of challan.
The two-wheelers causing noise pollution with a modified silencer will also be fined. The police stations under South Goa jurisdiction have been asked to ensure that proper barricading is done to stop and check vehicles. Staff should be suitably armed and use reflective jackets, torches, reflective batons for better visibility.
The checking point will be changed every day. Action taken report on the violations booked has been sought to be furnished regularly.
