MARGAO: The President’s Secretariat in Rashtrapati Bhavan has sent a letter to the Goa Chief Secretary for appropriate attention and action on the petition of Margao resident Floyd Coutinho against the then PI of Maina-Curtorim Police Station and current DySP Sagar Ekoskar and others in a case of harassing him with an intent to extort.
The very same Sagar Ekoskar is in the eye of a storm for his alleged brutal assault inside the Valpoi police station, on farmer leader Hanumanth Parab of Pissurlem for protesting against, what is now confirmed, the illegal transportation of iron ore through the area
The letter states that ‘enclosed please find for appropriate attention and action to a petition dated March 22, 2022, addressed to President of India. Action taken on the petition may be please communicated to the petitioner directory.’ It is learned that President’s Secretariat has asked an IAS officer based at Porvorim to conduct an inquiry.
Similarly, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Legal Cell New Delhi has also addressed a letter to Secretary Home Goa forwarding the police complaint about taking necessary action under intimation to the applicant, and the Ministry of Home affairs Legal Cell.
Floyd has made a written complaint against DySP Ekoskar, PSI Tejaskumar Naik, police constables Dhiraj Naik, and Rizwan Shaikh with the President of India, Prime Minister, and Home Minister alleging that the police are harassing him and trying to falsely implicate him in a case in which he is not involved.
Floyd stated that he is not involved in any offense, but the police are trying to tarnish his name, harassing him by pasting notice on the door of his flat and also issuing lookout notices at the airport to stop his entry into Goa and were also trying to falsely implicate him in a case in which he is not involved.
