PANJIM: The new iconic Zuari bridge has been kept open for pedestrians to walk across and take photographs from Sunday to December 28 – a day before the bridge will be formally inaugurated.
On Sunday, many people walked across the bridge and took photographs. The bridge will be kept open for pedestrians to take photographs till December 28, from 5 pm to 8 pm.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced this after he visited the bridge on Saturday evening. Sawant said that the decision was taken on public request.
Sawant tweeted, “I invite you all to explore the #Zuari bridge on the joyous occasion of Christmas. The bridge will be open for pedestrians from December 25 to 28, between 5 pm to 8 pm. Let’s cherish this Christmas season with a stroll on this architectural marvel.”
The cable stayed bridge will be inaugurated by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari at 6 pm on Thursday, December 29.
