PANJIM: The National Students Union of India (NSUI), students’ wing of the Congress has written to Goa Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and Goa University demanding not to conduct final year semester exams in offline/physical mode.
The NSUI has suggested that the university rather use the previous academic year’s performance to evaluate the students.
“In view of massive transmission of COVID-19 infection in the State, thousands of people have lost their lives. To ensure safety and security of the students we request you not to hold the final year semester exams in offline/physical mode rather use some other method to evaluate the students,” reads the letter by NSUI North Goa president Naushad Chowdhari.
He explained to the Governor, also Chancellor of the Goa University and officials that due to second wave of COVID-19 the students’ community is panicked regarding the end semester exams and since Goa’s positivity and mortality rate is high, it is very risky to conduct the examinations in offline mode.
