NSUI to sit on one-day token hunger strike

National Students Union of India (Goa) on Tuesday called for a one-day token hunger strike in Panjim on Wednesday, July 4, to impress upon the Government to hand over the police-drug mafia nexus case to the National Investigation Agency or the CBI.
NSUI, which has started a signature campaign against the issue, in a press release issued by President Sunil Kawthankar stated seven days time given to the Government to handover the case to any of these agencies had lapsed and now it was intensifying the agitation.
Kawthankar alleged that the July 23 attack on him was due to his signature campaign against the nexus. He has appealed to the student and teachers to join them in heir fight against the drug menace.
