PANJIM: Members of National Students Union of India (NSUI), on Thursday, called on Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai and urged him to retain Ordinance ‘OA-25’, which concerns ‘Challenge Evaluation’ in the Goa University examinations.
This ordinance serves as a crucial tool for students to address instances of perceived injustice in the examination correction process. As such, its removal would severely undermine the rights and academic integrity of students, particularly those in professional fields such as Engineering, Medicine, and Law, NSUI said.
NSUI Goa President Naushad Chowdhari, along with South District president Shane Rebello, General Secretary Focrodin Muzawar and others met the Governor and requested him not to give the assent to abolish the Ordinance, instead reduce the fees of evaluation from Rs 5,000 per paper to Rs 1200-1500 per paper.
