MARGAO: In the wake of the alarming rise in coronavirus cases, a vaccination centre was opened at Nuvem on Wednesday wherein hundreds of people above the age of 45 rushed to take a jab.

Speaking to the media Nuvem MLA Wilfred D’sa, under whom the centre started, said we have noticed that there are many people above the age of 45 who have not taken the vaccination. Earlier we had organised vaccination camps in six different villages of Nuvem constituency and despite it has been brought to our notice that many are left to take the vaccine.

“I had requested the Chief Minister to open the vaccination centre in Nuvem in order to help the people and the government within no time approved the same. Hence, I am requesting the people of Nuvem constituency to come forward and take the vaccine immediately”, he appealed.

MLA further informed that his efforts are on for organising vaccination camp for the age group of 18 to 45 in the coming ten days.

Zilla Panchayat member of Nuvem Vania Baptista said that in wake of COVID 19, Nuvem MLA has been working hard to help the people.

“Covid Care Centre has been started in Majorda by the efforts of Wilfred. Such type of efforts is not possible without the support of stake holders such as church, schools and the villagers. We need people support also”, she stated.
