MARGAO: Claiming that the Nuvem panchayat has put all mechanisms in place for proper garbage management, Sarpanch Frida D’Sa said that the construction of their Material Recovery Facility will be completed very soon.
The panchayat has had a tough time dealing with waste being illegally dumped on its roads and the new highway. A few villagers demanded that the fine for littering be raised, and a garbage sentinel
deployed.
“We have a one-tonne garbage treatment plant
and work on it was halted due to some electric issue. It has been rectified now,”
said D’Sa.
