MAPUSA: The Anjuna Police arrested a 27-year-old man from Odisha for allegedly possessing narcotics worth approximately Rs six lakh in the market.
According to Mapusa Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Jivba Dalvi, the accused Rinu Lima from Gajapati in Odisha was caught red-handed when he came to deliver the narcotic drug “ganja” to his prospective customers.
In this connection, the Anjuna police registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, for illegal possession of the narcotic drug which was seized at the instance of the accused.
A police team led by PSI Sahil Warang and constables Mahendra Mandrekar, Adarsh Nagekar, Mayur Ghadi, Rupesh Azgaonkar and Shanu Raut developed the information, leading to the arrest of inter-State drug peddler under the guidance of Anjuna PI Prashal P N Dessai, DySP Jivba Dalvi and SP North Nidhin Valsan.
