PONDA: In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old Odisha native Rajkishore Naik strangulated his 24-year-old wife Rita Badakia to death at Batwadi, Shiroda as he suspected her to be having an extramarital affair.
According to Ponda Police, the murder took place at around 8.30 pm when Rajkishore and Rita had a heated discussion on the issue, and in a fit of rage, the accused strangulated the victim.
On receiving the news, Ponda Police led by PI Vijaykumar Chodankar rushed to the spot and began investigations.
Soon after committing Rita’s murder, Rajkishore tried to flee from Shiroda but was soon arrested by the police at Ponda.
Police said Rajkumar had arrived in Goa seven years ago in search of a job. He was employed as a laborer. For the past three years, he was residing at Shiroda. Ponda Police are conducting further investigations.
